Mexico’s porous border allows the cartels to have grenades from South Korea, full automatic AK47 machine guns from China, and hand guns from Italy. Only 50% of Mexico’s guns come from the U.S. but with porous borders, guns can cross both ways.
Availability and accessibility are far apart. It’s the fetishizing of a (dangerous) object that I worry about. Every person I know who’s been shot has been the victim of an accident.
